Pulse Ontario Dance Conference
Christopher has attended the Pulse Ontario Dance Conference since 2006. He's been a Delegate, Student Ambassador, and Key-Note Speaker at the conference; and in 2010 he joined the Committee to represent the student's voice.
In 2012 Christopher made a transition into exploring the technical aspects of theatre and dance and continue to support the Pulse Ontario Dance Conference as a Stage Manager for two evening performances, and Technical Liaison to the conference Committee.
This 3 day intensive conference gives students the ability to see and explore dance themes and cultures from around the world. It gives them the chance to learn from industry professionals, and be exposed to two nights of professional dance performances. Students will also hear from key-note speakers from the dance industry on their experience with dance, and what it is that drives us.
For Teachers it's also a beneficial opportunity to welcome in new forms of movement to their students but also gain P.D. opportunities. Currently dance is under-represented in our education system, and in some schools has become "Zumba" time in P.E. classes. Meanwhile dance has been scientifically proven to help light up the neurons in our brains.
Pulse gives the educators of Ontario connections from other school boards, Post-Secondary, Secondary and Primary a chance to reach out and find out that you are not a lone fish in the sea, and there are so many more options available.
